Clinical Psychologist (Registrar)
BPsych (Hons), MClinPsych

Days of Practice: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Jessie (she/her) is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at Curtin University. Jessie has previous clinical experience working in public and non-government mental health and drug and alcohol services across inpatient, outpatient, and digital settings. Before completing her studies, Jessie worked in mental health and community services statewide policy and program management for several years, where she developed a passion for amplifying the voices of people with lived experience and translating research to drive evidence-based positive systems change.

Jessie sees it as a privilege to be trusted with an individual’s story, and she prioritises building a strong therapeutic relationship as the basis for that trust. She aims to help people understand and make meaning from their stories in a way that allows them to feel safe, connect with others, and do their work in the world. Jessie aims to be approachable, empathic, and curious and brings her sense of humour to her practice. She also prioritises providing a queer-friendly and gender-affirming space for other LGBTQIA+ folks.

Jessie has worked with people across the lifespan, from childhood to older adulthood, and she particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults and neurodivergent folks. Jessie has experience supporting ADHDers and Autistic people and those with depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment difficulties, personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, alcohol and other drug use, chronic health conditions, and relationship issues. Jessie draws on a range of evidence-based psychotherapeutic models in her practice; depending on the presenting issues, these may include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches.

Aside from psychology, Jessie is also passionate about coffee, fibre arts, speculative fiction, very loud music, and cat cuddles (although not at the same time).
